Hey friend, I've been in my drawers lately. Not metaphorically. Literally. Spring cleaning your wardrobe will have you out here reevaluating your life... one "I might wear this someday" at a time. ThirstT-shirts I haven't worn in years. Jeans in every size and style...and somehow none of them hit. Dresses I used to love that now just feel like history. And I found myself standing there, holding things like: "Why do I still have this?" Not "Do I like it?" Not "Does it fit?" But... why is this still here? And then it hit me: This isn't just about my closet. Because it's not. It's the half-finished ideas sitting in your Notes app. The commitments you said yes to... and immediately questioned. The roles you're still playing, even though you've outgrown them. Some of us aren't stuck. We're just... full. Full of things we haven't finished. And things we haven't given ourselves permission to release. And both take up space. That tension? That's the thirst. RecipeSo I kept going. One drawer turned into two. Two turned into me side-eyeing my entire closet like, "Ma'am... what are we doing here?" Because at some point, this stops being about organization. And starts being about honesty. Here's the reframe: This isn't about getting your life together. It's about getting real about what no longer fits. And here's what the research tells us: most of us try to solve this at the wrong level. We reorganize the drawer. We update the calendar. We tweak the habit. But Robert Dilts' Neurological Levels model reminds us that lasting change doesn't happen at the behavior level - it happens at the identity level. James Clear echoes this in Atomic Habits: behavior that's incongruent with who you believe yourself to be won't stick. So the real question isn't what to release. It's who were you when that role, that commitment, that version of yourself still fit? Because not everything in your life is meant to move forward with you. Some things need your energy. Some things just need a decision. And some things? They've already expired. You're just being polite about it. Quench
Start small. One drawer. One decision. One release. Closing SipThere's something about letting things go that feels bigger than it should. Because it's not just the thing - it's who you were when it fit. And if you're standing in a season where some things don't fit the way they used to... Good. That means you've grown. 🎥 From GenX Quench (YouTube channel): We're breaking down hotels, resorts, and Airbnbs - because if you stay in the wrong place, you might leave thinking you "know" a country... when you've barely seen it. Watch here→ If this resonated, reply and tell me what you're ready to release. I read every message and would love to hear from you. And if you're in a season of clearing space for what's next - that's exactly where I come in. I'm currently accepting coaching and consulting clients, and I'd love to support you as you step into what fits now. Forward this to someone who's been holding on a little too long. Hey friend, I stopped by the MAC counter this month because I needed a few things. I was out of eyeliner, needed a fresh lip liner, and had been hearing everyone rave about a color called Nightmoth. So I bought it. I came home, unpacked my little shopping bag, and started putting everything away. Then I looked at my other lip liners. And there it was. A nearly brand-new Nightmoth lip liner. Apparently, I'd already bought it. I just forget I had it. I stood there laughing at myself. Then,...
Hey friend, A few weeks ago, my 90-year-old mother and I were out running errands. By that point, we'd been in and out of stores, riding around town, checking things off the list. Mom has arthritis in her knees, and some days they really bother her. As we were wrapping up, I asked, "Do you want to stop by Lowe's and get some flowers for the back deck?" Without missing a beat, she said: "I'm not hurting when I do something I love." Now, let's be clear. The arthritis didn't magically disappear....
Hey friend, I had two photo shoots this month. A headshot session I had planned. And a brand shoot opportunity that popped up last minute, with three outfit changes and full production. And if I'm honest? I was nervous about both of them. Not because I didn't need new images. But because a small voice kept saying: "Wait until you're a little further along." Thirst It's been over four years since my last set of photos. And a lot has changed. I've lost weight. Shifted direction in my business....
